The Books of Zeref (ゼレフ書 Zerefu Sho) are, as the name suggests, a series of Magic books written by the Black Mage Zeref, containing various spells of the Black Arts.

Zeref Dragneel, the last standing in the dragneel family lost his parents and his younger brother Natsu Dragneel under a dragon attack. Zeref went to a magic academy there he learned more about magic and life. When he left the academy he revived his brother Natsu but Zeref had to live with a deadly curse that kills everything he toches or is to close to. Zeref putted Natsu in to the future with Gajeel, Wendy and the other dragon slayers, and everyone came from other timelines so Zeref got help from an old friend a spirit of time.
Zeref had an old friend igneel, Zeref wanted igneel to train natsu into a dragon slayer and he also wanted igneel to tell the other dragons to pic one of the kids.
